Misha Zubarev (Philadelphia, PA) is a filmmaker, director, model, actor, who enjoys the work and creativity both behind and in front of the scenes.
Misha Behind-The-Scenes:
His experience began as a filmmaker in Spring 2001 when he produced, filmed, and edited a full-length feature film entitled Four Funny Families, which screened at Prince Music Theater, Wilmington Int'l Film Festival, New York Film & Video Festival, and in Odessa, Ukraine. His second film, which he produced, directed, and edited, was well received in the Philadelphia Film Festival, WYBE Season 4, Tribecca Underground Film Festival, and WESTFest, where it received a Best Original Score award. The film also received good critical reviews from Betty Jo Tucker, lead film critic for ReelTalk Reviews.
In Fall of 2006 Misha was a highlighted Philadelphia filmmaker in MovieMaker Magazine, and he was also selected to be on the committee of the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival, as well as the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival. He worked as associate producer and director for EBRU TV / Everest Productions, a prestigious television production facility located in central New Jersey, and he filmed and produced videos for Top 4th American Idol contestant Anthony Fedorov. Some of his footage was used for Access Hollywood / American Idols.
Misha was also one of the creative and producing partners of LiveFaceOnWeb (www.livefaceonweb.com), a creative service for online businesses that records actors and models for the web, making them the online spokespeople for the business.
Most recently Misha directed the live show of a new pilot produced by New Century Television called "American Actor" ("American Idol" for actors).
Another one of his recently produced and edited video projects, "About Angels, etc.", was acquired for WYBE Philadelphia Stories Season 6. "About Angels, etc." is based on a collection of award-winning poems by V. Ulea.
Misha Zubarev also served as curator / producer for www.hotINK.org 2008 festival. He curated for Stonestreet Studio's selected screenplay "My Dog Trash Can". The screenplay has received lots of praise, and has a potential of going on screen.
Currently he is in production on a Teens TV talk show for Everest Production Corporation, which is targeted towards middle-school and high school teens and their parents, to help set and bring back social values that seem to be rapidly disappearing in today's culture.
Misha In-The-Scenes:
Another side of Misha, which he himself only discovered not too long ago (Spring 2007), is that he has a neck for acting and modeling. He was on the runway in over 30 cross-country bridal fashion shows for David's Bridal and After Hours, featuring Fall and Spring fashion tuxedoes by Calvin Klein, Oscar De Lorento, Ralph Lauren, and many others. He has also worked with numerous photographers for print work, as well did two voiceover jobs for the Maryland Lottery (AFTRA).
Misha is also in competition for Esquire Magazine's "Best Dressed Man of the Year 2008), and he is currently in third place, with over 35,000 votes, and counting!
